Description

Breakfast is served in our large kitchen-diner. A light breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, toast and jam or marmalade with fruit juice and either Welsh or Rooibos tea or  coffee is included in your price.

A cooked breakfast with egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes can be served for an additional £4.50 per person per day. You will see that on the extras drop-down above.

Fruit juice is always not-from-concentrate, milk is full-fat organic, eggs are always free range and from our hens when they are laying, sausage is minimum 70% pork, bread is always organic and home-baked and jam and marmalade are home-made, from local produce when available.

A meal on arrival is also possible on the extras drop-down. And of course you can order further evening meals when you arrive. Evening meals centre around our own super-aged beef and mutton. It’s pot luck, but please feel free to express a preference! All meals are communal and sociable around our farmhouse kitchen table. Grey Alders is fully licensed.

This is our second visit. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the friendship and hospitality shown to us. Judy’s cooking of their own lamb is something to remember and relish. It was absolutely delicious. After a stressful year, we needed this break, and it certainly did us good.

Grey Alders is a lovely farm-based guest house, in stunningly beautiful countryside. An ideal and idyllic setting for a quiet retreat or getaway. Excellent double room and bathroom, perfectly cleaned and maintained. Stephen and Judy both marvellous hosts : welcoming, caring, thoughtful and great company, with most enjoyable times and talks together. Lovely cooked breakfasts, and I highly recommend the evening meal (with wine), which was superb, the mutton living up to its reputation! Everything done and provided with quiet, unfussed efficiency. Thanks so much to both of you, for a truly “magical” weekend in Wales. I would certainly come back at the earliest opportunity.

Grey Alders Farm provides visitors with a tranquil escape from life’s more usual intense pace. We booked the double bedroom with ensuite. We stayed 3 nights, and on arrival, we were served some delicious farm produced mutton for dinner by our hosts Stephen and Judy. We found the farm is central to many beautiful places to visit, both countryside and coast.
We can confidently recommend a stay at Grey Alders with Stephen and Judy, will not disappoint.

Great if you like a hard bed. Could feel the springs a bit but not too bad. We were there in September and room had a bit of a damp feel to it but not bad. very clean and the darkness was great compared to where we live. Room had towels and soap and shampoo. Owners/caretakers are great.

The hosts were very welcoming and went out of there way to make us very comfortable.

We will certainly be back and great value for the money

Thank you for given the boys the opportunity to feed the sheep – they loved it.

A great few days staying at Grey Alders. Lovely en-suite double bedroom, with every comfort you could imagine, down to the last detail. Everything about the room is delightful. Really comfortable bed and good amount of hanging and cupboard space in attractive cupboards and wardrobes. Super view out to the trees and beyond to the fields where sheep wander. A big thank you Judy and Stephen for your amazing hospitality, for the fun and chats we had, and making my stay so enjoyable.
