A traditional Welsh Brand of butter churned in Carmarthenshire.

In 2015 The judges from the Great Taste Awards gave Shirgar Butter 3 Gold Stars: “Butter doesn’t get much better than this”, proclaimed the judges. The butter’s balance of sweet notes and saltiness was likened to alchemy with judges identifying notes of malt and caramel.”

In May 2025, the Daily Telegraph agreed, rating Shirgar at no. 6 out of 42 tested: ‘Silky textured, a little salty but good clean flavour. The most buttery of all on test:’
